On Guard Access Control — Four Seasons Hotel
Deploying On Guard access control across a luxury hospitality property, balancing guest convenience with staff-area security.
Hospitality properties present a specific access control challenge: guest areas need to feel effortless, while staff-only and back-of-house areas need real security enforcement — and both have to run on the same system.
The Challenge
Four Seasons required an access control deployment that could manage two very different user populations on one platform: guests who expect frictionless movement through public and room-access areas, and staff who need role-based, auditable access to back-of-house, storage, and administrative zones — without either group's experience compromising the other's security requirements.
The Solution
We deployed On Guard access control hardware and management software across the property, configured with separate access profiles for guest-facing and staff-only zones. Staff credentials were tied to role-based permissions with full audit logging, while guest-area access was tuned for reliability and speed at high-traffic points like lobbies and elevator banks.
The Result
The property now runs a single, centrally managed access control platform that gives security and facilities staff full visibility into staff-area access activity, while guest-facing areas operate with the seamless experience a luxury property requires. The On Guard platform's centralized management also simplified staff onboarding and offboarding, reducing the administrative overhead of credential management.
